Itinerary

Day 1 (dinner)
On day one, we’ll meet at our beautiful hotel in historic Florence for a welcome dinner and short class on camera settings before shooting at our first location: sunset along the Arno River and Ponte Vecchio!

Day 2 (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
After breakfast we depart for San Gimignano where we will explore this tremendous hilltop town, enjoy a wine tasting and lunch with views of the surrounding valley before making our way to Pienza – our home for the next 4 nights. After a classic tuscan dinner, we head to one of Ted's favorite sunset locations just minutes from Pienza.

Day 3 (breakfast, dinner)
An early morning – we wake up for a (hopefully) foggy sunrise over il Belvedere and immediately after we photograph the Cypress Grove in the soft morning light. Following breakfast, you will have the morning to rest before another class on moving the viewer’s eye, focus stacking, and perfecting your own style. After class, it’s on to Montepulciano to experience the beautiful city before photographing the famous roads of La Foce and La Strada Montichiello. This evening we participate in a culinary delight – a cooking class at a rustic Italian Farmhouse!

Day 4 (breakfast, lunch)
Sleeping in, we depart for Siena after breakfast where we explore the hidden gems of the city while on a private walking tour. Lunch in Siena is following by a beautiful drive through Crete Senesi to photograph iconic rolling hills of wheat and flocks of meandering sheep. Arriving back in Pienza in mid-afternoon, we will have another rest period with an open dinner, before departing for the farmhouse Terrapille for sunset.

Day 5 (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Our last full day in Tuscany will kick off with an optional sunrise photoshoot of the group’s choice followed by a shorter class on nightscapes and panoramics. We depart for Montalcino mid-morning to explore the birthplace of Brunello Red Wine and the wonderful town before a fabulous lunch and cheese tasting at a local farmhouse. After lunch, we will visit the Banfi estates for epic vistas of beautiful vineyards, a tour of the balsamaria and wine tasting. We finish the day with a late afternoon photoshoot of the Abbey of Sant Antimo. Dinner in San Quirico follows.

Day 6 (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
After the long day 5, we will sleep in before departing for the Abbey of San Galgano to spend time photographing the beautiful ruins. After a short drive to Radda in Chianti for lunch and to photograph this fantastic town, we finish the afternoon in Florence, checking in at the hotel for a class on post-processing. After an early dinner, we will make our way to Piazza Michelangelo for fantastic vistas of Florence at sunset.

Day 7 (breakfast, dinner)
A final sunrise shoot of il Duomo without tourists before grabbing breakfast back at the hotel kicks off our last day. After breakfast you’ll have the morning to rest & explore Florence (and do some shopping!) on your own before a private tour of the Ufizi Gallery and Vasari Cooridor in the afternoon. We cap off the trip with a farewell happy hour and dinner across from the Piti Palace.

Day 8 (breakfast)
One final breakfast as a group before departing. For those of you joining us on the Cinque Terre Extension, we will depart around 2pm for the trip to Monterosso al Mare. For those of you leaving us, we can assist in purchasing train tickets to Rome, Venice or wherever you may be traveling to next.
